Beware of Census Scams
DON'T EVERY GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION!.
Census workers will soon make the rounds in Wyo-Braska, and that opens the door for scammers who try to dupe unsuspecting consumers out of personal information.  If someone comes to your door asking for Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, credit card information, or any personal information, do not give it out.  Census workers will not ask you for that information.  They should have a badge, a handheld device, a Census Bureau canvas bag and a confidentiality notice, but still should not ask for personal information.

Without this information, a business will not issue new credit to a thief. When the consumer wants to get new credit, he or she uses a PIN to unlock access to the credit file.

This implies almost a 100 percent certainty that you or someone in your family will be an identity theft victim sometime in your lifetime.
